Yoga is safe for all age groups, as you are encouraged to listen to your body, when carrying out the postures. Breath awareness during the exercises is one of the most important aspects, you are guided through a range of postures where the breath is incorporated. The classes finish with 15-20 minutes of breathing and relaxation.
Yoga helps to harmonise mind body and spirit as it helps to connect the mental, physical and emotional aspects of a person. Yoga practice helps to return to the integrated self and experience the truth of who we really are. Yoga helps to expand the heart and gives a sense of wholeness and peace. When a posture is performed with full awareness, it develops into something far greater than just a fitness regime. Yoga is practising ‘to be in the now’.
