Reflexology is an ancient therapy found in India, Egypt and China. In 1910 Dr William Fitzgerald re-discovered this therapy while working in the E.N.T. hospital in London. He moved to America where with the assistance of a physiotherapist, Eunice Ingrams made the first map of the points on the feet. These points known as Reflex points act like communications wires as the feet and hands are the terminals points of over 7000 nerve endings.

Reflexology is a compression massage on specific points on the feet which "reflect" different parts of the body. Congestion, tension or over-activity in the corresponding area is relieved. Also during the process, circulation and elimination of toxins are improved. The therapist can detect tiny deposits and imbalances and can restore the full flow of energy to the whole mind, body and spirit.

Reflexology is an extremely effective therapy for many conditions including:

Stress

Hormonal imbalance

Deficient immune system

Digestive disorders

Muscular-skeletal problems

It can also be used as a preventative measure against ill health, so a person does not need to be ill to benefit from Reflexology.

Although Reflexology does not set out to make medical diagnosis, it can give a fair assessment of general health. The frequency of treatments depends on your needs but ideally reflexology needs to be received on a regular basis for greatest benefit. It can, however, be enjoyed as single relaxation sessions.
